VSE showed new Plug'n'Play module at Hannover Messe

The plug-in module integrates flowmeters into IO-Link systems. IO-Link systems are used in automation technology, among other areas. The IO-Link extension for all VSE volume sensors creates a smart volume measuring device, which is either available as a complete system or can be integrated into existing systems as an upgrade/add-on. In addition to the digitised process data, the plug'n'play module also provides maintenance and diagnostic data, thus raising the market leader's high-precision sensors to Industry 4.0 level.

By using the IO.flow® converter, the sensor can transmit the above-mentioned process data to the higher-level controller and communicate bidirectionally with it. This includes, for example, identification data of the converter and the paired flowmeter, parameter settings, diagnostic data and events. In addition, the effort required for switching and wiring in the field is considerably reduced, as a large number of volume sensors can be connected and queried collectively via the IO-Link master. Additional frequency-to-analogue converters or counter cards, which have to be parameterised separately, are therefore no longer required.
